Rogue Lettuce Seedlings and Broccoli Harvest

Well, here are my lettuce seedlings that Dan suggested I "broadcast" over the soil. I forgot about them, just left them behind the house, and they came up! Much better than those I took care of.

And here is my broccoli crop. Don't laugh. I brought it in last night because it got cold. I think I'll sautee the leaves for lunch. The wine will be an important part of this lunch.

haha, you may want to drink the wine first.

Your broccoli has done really well for being started from seed so late. I think there is still a good chance you could get a head developing. Broccoli can take 32-40f no problem. Mine just got snowed on today and they are still kicking.

I've never been able to grow broccoli from seed so you are one up on me. And I bet the leaves are delicious ~ especially with that wine ;)

Thanks, Dan, Tina (even though I'm not DP :) ), and Cindy! Yes, broccoli leaves are delicious sauteed in olive oil and garlic.

Hahaha, That's too funny, Jan and Tina!

Those seedlings are small, but you never know. maybe they'll d better inside this winter. Just put them near a window for some light!

Hm, you mean I can grow lettuce inside if I have it near a window?
